My Morning Skincare Routine

I have a confession...I'm terrible at looking after my skin. I just don't do it to be honest.I have plenty of products floating around but I use them for a while and then forget! Oops. So as my skin isn't at it's best right now, I would say I have normal skin that gets a little oily now and again but not too much, I decided it was time to start using some of these products and come up with a skincare routine.

I have kept things as simple as possible for now and come up with a basic routine that seems to work for me. Hopefully in time I will build on it as there is definitely more I could be doing but if I make it too much then I just won't stick to it. So for now it's a basic Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise.

So first thing's first. I start by washing my face with the Simple Foaming Cleanser. I really like this because it's nice and fresh. It doesn't have any artificial perfumes or anything so as it says on the bottle it's kind to skin. It's also a super affordable high street brand. Something that I love, but have no idea why, is how it foams up as it comes out the pump. I know I'm weird.

The toner I have been using is the Kueshi Pure and Gentle Revitalising Face Toner. I think this one came from a Glossybox a while ago and I'm not sure where you can get it but I really like it. It's not one of those toners which really nips at your skin but it still works. I know the nippy ones make you feel like it's really working but even though this one doesn't do that I still find it works.

Next and final step is to moisturise. I have been using the Johnsons Daily Essentials 24 Hour Day Cream for Normal Skin. This moisturiser is so cheap at about £5 I think. I have been using this for a while, I think it was Louise aka Sprinkle of Glitter that I first saw using this and thought hmm I will give it a go. It smells amazing and makes my skin feel so soft, I love it.

Another little thing I want to add in is that I am trying to drink as much water as I can as I know it is supposed to help your skin as well. I feel like I am going on about how important it is to drink water an awful lot lately but it really is important.

I know this is very basic but I am no skin expert and unfortunately at the moment my budget doesn't quite stretch to some of the higher end products I would like to try.

Have you found any high street skincare that's really good?
I'm definitely going to be trying out some new things in terms of skincare over the next few months so would be good to have some recommendations.

Julz xx
