My Day Out

The title I have chosen makes it sound like I don't get out much.....that's kinda true. Anyway I did get out for a trip last week. Myself and Graham decided to take a trip down to Hadrian's Wall which is about an hour and a half away by car. We went down to visit a Roman fort called Vindolanda. I like to try and get down there at least once a year because it is always changing. Vindolanda is a fort that is still being excavated and will be for around another 200 years they say. There is so much there to see and always more being uncovered. It's great to be able to watch the dig happening and if your lucky seeing something amazing come out of the ground.
I tried to get a picture of how big this place is but it just didn't work!

We also decided to go down the road to the Roman Army Museum as you can get a saver ticket for both sites and Graham has never been here before. It's a long time since I had been and I was impressed. It's a really great experience and there is even a short 3D film!

I would just like to point out that I had one shot of this bow and arrow thingy and got the 240m meaning I could join the archers woohoo! go me! It took Graham 3 attempts haha!

(That guy is like a hologram thing and he gives you a lesson.)

So this kind of day out probably isn't everyone's cup of tea but I have been doing it for years and love it. It's definitely something I plan to keep doing and if I am lucky enough to have children I will do with them to.
