My Day Out

The title I have chosen makes it sound like I don't get out much.....that's kinda true. Anyway I did get out for a trip last week. Myself and Graham decided to take a trip down to Hadrian's Wall which is about an hour and a half away by car. We went down to visit a Roman fort called Vindolanda. I like to try and get down there at least once a year because it is always changing. Vindolanda is a fort that is still being excavated and will be for around another 200 years they say. There is so much there to see and always more being uncovered. It's great to be able to watch the dig happening and if your lucky seeing something amazing come out of the ground.
I tried to get a picture of how big this place is but it just didn't work!

We also decided to go down the road to the Roman Army Museum as you can get a saver ticket for both sites and Graham has never been here before. It's a long time since I had been and I was impressed. It's a really great experience and there is even a short 3D film!

I would just like to point out that I had one shot of this bow and arrow thingy and got the 240m meaning I could join the archers woohoo! go me! It took Graham 3 attempts haha!

(That guy is like a hologram thing and he gives you a lesson.)

So this kind of day out probably isn't everyone's cup of tea but I have been doing it for years and love it. It's definitely something I plan to keep doing and if I am lucky enough to have children I will do with them to.

Anxiety

Hey! So I was having a bit of trouble with my anxiety last night and started writing a bog post about how I was feeling. I totally forgot I had done this until I went into my posts this morning and found this draft. It's not a proper full blog post but I just thought I would share anyway.


I have mentioned before that I have problems with depression and anxiety but since December I have been on medication and feeling a lot better. Not amazing and like everything was wonderful all of a sudden but better. However tonight I have been going through a difficult time with my anxiety. I have never ever been a good sleeper. Except when I was a lickle baby but even when I was a child not sure how old but primary school age of some sort I used to not want to go to sleep incase the house went on fire in the night. That's how long I have had problems! So now at 24 that sort of thing doesn't really cross my mind anymore. It's more about losing people I love and care about or dying myself and that I am not making the most of my life. I feel like right now I need to do something about it, but obviously I can't. Ok it might not be perfect but it's a lot better than what some people go through and I need to learn to make the most of what I have and enjoy it. I feel like I am almost at panic attack stage and when I lived at home I would go through to my mum and dad and they would have to try and calm me down but now I have moved out I can't do that and waking Graham is a mission and a half. I am so restless I can't lie still. I lie down, sit up, go for a wander. I find it so hard to calm down when I start thinking like this. The only thing that makes me feel a little better is finding the kitten and cuddling her. She always makes me happy with her cuteness, and then hopefully I will fall asleep. I hate this feeling.


Yeah so I thought I would post this so that you could understand what goes through people's heads when they have anxiety. I think there is a lot of understanding around it these days but sometime's people will tell you are just being silly thinking like this. I don't think everyone understands that you don't choose to think like this you can't help it. Once that first thought crosses your mind it is hard to get out of that way of thinking. I find distractions the best solution, like I said my kitten, or a funny film or just anything cheerful.

I'm sorry this is a bit of a glum post but this is just part of my life and talking about it can sometimes help. If you have similar problems with Anxiety and Depression please do go and visit your GP I put it off for years and just got worse because I didn't want to be on medication but you know what taking one pill a day to help me get out of bed and get on with life isn't all that bad. Medication isn't the only option though, counselling is useful to some people too. Just don't try and put up with it and end up suffering ok?

I hope this was useful to at least one person, now to try and liven up and get on with my day :-)

         archaeological dig of one of the forts, Vindolanda, every year.

      my eyes watering. It's very odd my whole face feels weird and tingly.

      make bread with my Grandad and cakes with my Granny.

22. I'm not at all a morning person, not good considering I regularly start work at 6am. What a

My March 2014 Favourites

It seems for all March hasn't been the best month for me in one sense,  in another it has been a month of new discoveries and favourites so I decided to tell you all about it :)

I'm going to start with my Make-Up favourites because they are always the most exciting. It is great when you try out a new product and love it . 

In saying that the first product is actually something that I have been using for a while now but this month have kind of rediscovered and been using pretty much everyday. It's the Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoos .

As you can see I have a small collection of them and I love them all. This is such a multi purpose product. They can be used as a base for eyeshadow or they look great just on their own.  I'm pretty sure you could use them as an eyeliner as well although I haven't tried it yet . My most used recently used is the permanent taupe on the bottom left. Best of all these only cost around £5 so won't break the bank either. I would highly recommend trying them out if you haven't already done so.

I have also been loving the Eyeko skinny liquid eyeliner.

I think I received this in a recent Birchbox and I have absolutely fallen in love with it. It makes doing a cat eye etc so easy. It is one of the ones that is like a felt tip pen, which I have tried before but still not had much success. This one is the easiest thing to use and lasts all day so no need to worry about touch ups. I would highly recommend giving this a go.

The final make up item this month is the Fashionista Vanishing Cream. I'm not sure if this is available in any of the Superdrug stores like MUA but I got it from the MUA website. It is basically the same sort of product as Benefit's Porefessional, but a lot cheaper. So if you are on a budget this is definitely one to give a go. I have been using it everyday and keeping my Porefessional for days off out or nights out.

The next item is a skin care item that is perfect for all you people who are as lazy as me and can't be bothered to moisturise after a shower and just want to get warmed up and get clothes on! It's a moisturiser you use in the shower!!!! Wow!

It's the Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser in Nourishing Cocoa .I don't think I need to say much more about this just it is perfect for me and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft and it smells gorgeous :-)

My final favourite of March is these new crisps from Walkers, Pops. They are one of their healthier kinds of crisps and surprisingly very tasty. Normally lower fat crisps don't have an awful lot of flavour and are just not that nice but these are packed with flavour and you wouldn't think they were low in fat. I really like them and it's even better that I can have them and not feel so guilty afterward. Thank you Walkers.
