How I Cope With Being a Female

Ok so this isn't the nicest of topics but I have writer's block today as all I can think about is how much my stomach hurts! So I figured I would do a little post about how I cope at "that time of the month".
How much does it suck to be a female by the way?!

So I have no idea if any of these things make a difference but they always make me feel better and less like I am dying!

First things first I have to keep active. As much as I want to curl up in a ball in bed it does me no good at all. I have to keep going. I'm not sure how this works but it does because I stupidly did a lot of sitting around this morning and felt awful yet at work tonight obviously I was constantly on my feet and I feel like I felt quite a bit better. Maybe its just the distraction from the pain.

Next is the best of all, as you may know I am....fat...basically, so a lot of the time I try so hard not to eat too much junk and not to drink sugary drinks and energy drinks. Except at this "time of the month". I will have some lucozade if I think my energy levels need a boost and I will let myself have some chocolate or whatever I'm craving. I know it doesn't technically make me better but it really cheers me up.

I do still make sure I drink plenty water as well though. I feel like drinking plenty water whenever you are not feeling right whether it's because of this or being ill is a must.

A lot of people take pain killers for their period pains but I refuse to. To be honest I won't take pain killers for anything unless it is really bad. I had to take some last week with wisdom teeth pain but only after two nights of crying myself to sleep because of the pain. So yeh pain killers are not something I will turn to.

If possible I will have a nice early night, have a shower, get some nice clean cosy pyjamas on and climb into bed with a hot chocolate or a cup of tea.

I think thats all I do. Not very exciting but it's all that's on my mind today.

Do you have any tips on how to cope? What do you do to make yourself feel better?

Birthday Wishlist

It's almost my birthday! On the 21st of this month I will be turning 26. That's a scary thought. Now normally when people ask what I want for my birthday my answer is I don't know but this year I have a few things I would like or would like money towards because some are a little more pricey than I would expect anyone to spend.

1. The new Disney Cinderella Dvd.
2. Some slippers, not specifically these Radley ones but something similar.
3. The Body Shop Advent Calendar.
4. A new iPad mini case.

I would never turn around and specifically ask for these things or anything else, but I will probably try and save up to get myself at least one of them.

I can't believe for my 26th birthday two of the things on my wishlist are still Disney things! I don't think I am ever going to really grow up no matter how old I get.

If Only I Could Sing!

Whilst browsing through my posts on this blog I realised there is something I have failed to really bring up...my love of music! It seems crazy to me that I haven't mentioned it. Don't get me wrong I am no musical genius or anything, I don't play an instrument or write songs or even have a good singing voice but I love music.

Music gets me through so many things in life whether it's motivating me to do my housework or picking me up when I'm feeling down. I always turn to music.

I've been singing along to music since I was a small child and now as a small adult it's becoming more and more regular. I do feel sorry for those around me that have to hear it though...seriously I get really into it. You know when you watch talent programmes on the tv and they tell them to really mean what they are singing and make it believable, I do that! Just not with a good voice.

If you read the day before yesterdays post you will know I'm going through a difficult time at the moment, and that means a whole lot of music and singing. I'm trying to listen to upbeat positive songs but now and again a power ballad will slip in and I can really get into it. Luckily I've had no complaints from the neighbours so far.

I guess music is like my therapy. I don't like to talk too much about how I'm feeling so singing really helps to get it all out.

Do you love music? I know a lot of people that aren't that bothered whether there is music or not, I don't understand it?

Glossybox September 2015

I know what you are thinking...what the hell? Bit late with this one are you not Julie? Blame the postie. My Glossybox went missing this month! I tracked it and it made to the local sorting office and said it had been delivered but I had no Glossybox and not even a little red card from the postie to say where it was or that I had to collect it. I was so sad when I realised it was missing.

Thanks to the customer support team though I finally have a new one! Yey. If you ever have a box go missing definitely send them an email and they get back to you super quick. Great customer service. It has taken about a week for the new box to come but they can't control the mail unfortunately.

Also they have put in a little card saying sorry if we have let you down and an extra item. Totally not necessary when it was royal mail's fault but totally appreciated.

Ok lets get onto the box, it's a good un!

It's another special edition box this month and it is very pretty. This is The Style Edition. Although I have already looked through the box it's only now I am looking through the little product card that I realise every item is full size! Wow!
This month I got:

Bellápierre Shimmer Powder in Whesek
Marsk Eyeshadow Brush Pro
Maria Nila  Luminous Colour Hair Masque
Invisibobble Traceless Hair Ring
B. Cosmetics B.Sculpted Contour Kit

And the extra item I received was a Seche Nail Lacquer in Inspiration.

I am genuinely so excited by this box, I knew it was a good one and was so disappointed when my original one went missing. I will use every single item in this box. I can't even pick a favourite item this month.

My Faith in Glossybox has well and truly been restored and I am so excited for the next box now. At least I won't have to wait as long in between boxes this time.

End of One Chapter and the Beginning of Another

Ok please bear with me on this one because this could easily become quite a long post. I want to make it as positive as possible but their is no denying this a sad situation.

My marriage is over....

...there we go.

It sounds so blunt and final to put it like that but that's not really the case. There is no major drama going on, no one cheated, no one was violent, nothing like that. I think we have just grown apart. We are not the same people that fell in love six years ago. I think we just want such different things and are actually in totally different stages of our lives. I am more than ready to be a responsible settled adult but he still wants to spend all his time round his mates house. I know that sounds a little pathetic but it is so hard to explain.

I think a lot of this is just down to me and the way I feel and the way I see things. I'm not saying it's my fault that we are splitting up and I'm not saying it's his, I think it is just one of those things. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't.

I don't want to ramble too much about the break up because I will just get depressed at the fact that we only made it to one year of marriage.

So what happens now?

I have no idea what my future holds, all I know for now is that it's time to finally get rid of our house. To be honest I have never fallen in love with this house. There is nothing in particular wrong with it but its never really been home.

That means it's going to be a busy few weeks making the place presentable and then a stressful god knows how long whilst it's up for sale. I hope it doesn't take too long to sell but houses round here don't go too fast to be honest.

After that I will probably have to move back home for a couple months and try to save a little bit before I move out on my own. Scary. Exciting. I don't know how to feel about it. I am trying to decide if I will be able to buy again or have to rent. I really don't want to rent because I feel like its a lot of money and in the end you have nothing to show for it. Plus it is so difficult to find somewhere that allows pets.

It's all going to work out good in the end. I'm going to make sure of that. I need to start living for me again and find some happiness. I want to start working on me and become the real me because right now I think she is hiding away.

Ok I think that will do for now :) Hopefully this wasn't too depressing.

Hello October

Blue skies on 1st October!

Oh hey! It's been a while hasn't it? I'm such a failure. To say sorry I am going to have another go at blogging everyday for a month. I decided to go with this month because it's the best month of course. It has nothing to do with the fact that it's the month I was born of course.

But seriously I think this is going to be quite an eventful month. I will explain more in tomorrow's post but for now let's just say it's the end of one chapter and the start of the next one which is going to be a whole lot better.

I mean never mind anything else the 1st day of this month, remember it's October and I am in Scotland, has been a beautiful sunny day if that's not a sign of good things to come I don't know what is.

I'm actually starting to doubt the fact it is October, what with the freakishly good weather and the fact that it was only July like a minute ago, what the actual heck is going on. It will be Christmas before we know it. I'm so excited!! I might even do Blogmas, is that a thing? Vlogmas is so I don't see why Blogmas can't be!

Never mind that though lets get through October first.

I guess I better get writing :)

Off To The Beach

Last week I was convinced it was time to say goodbye to summer for another year and then I wake up today to a beautiful sunny day. In fact not just sunny but hot as well! Yes then! I have been on a day off and the husband was away paintballing with friends so I decided to take myself off to the beach at Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

I almost didn't go because I'm a lazy bum and it takes an hour to get to the beach, but I'm so glad I managed to move my butt and go. I found a nice quiet spot on the beach, where there was just a few people, mainly dog walkers. It was such a nice day with blue skies and a nice breeze on the beach, and I had a nice leisurely stroll with my camera.

I need to start making the effort to do things like this more often when I can. Just wish I had realised that at the beginning of the Summer not the end!

What do you like to do to get you out of the house?
